The short version

Anomaly is a puzzle game that runs entirely on your device. There are no user accounts, no registration, no server operated by us, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party analytics. The game itself needs no network connection at all: puzzles, hints, progress and statistics are created on your device and stay there.

We never have access to this data.

Processing on your device

Stored locally only:

This data does not leave your device. There is no iCloud synchronisation; the app database is deliberately set up without any cloud connection. A backup of your device may include it — that is up to your iOS settings.

No identifiers, no advertising

The app uses no advertising identifier (IDFA), does not ask for App Tracking Transparency and embeds no ad networks. There is no profile, no cross-app recognition and no disclosure to third parties for advertising purposes.

App Store and in-app purchases

Purchase, payment and management of in-app purchases are handled exclusively by Apple. The app asks Apple whether a purchase exists and records the result locally. We receive only aggregated, non-personal sales and payout reports from Apple. We neither collect nor store payment data.

The service is provided by Apple Inc., One Apple Park Way, Cupertino, CA 95014, USA, and Apple Distribution International Ltd., Cork, Ireland. Apple's privacy policy applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

Diagnostic data

The app embeds no crash or analytics services of its own. If your device sends diagnostic data to Apple, this is based on your consent in the iOS system settings ("Analytics & Improvements"). At most we receive anonymised crash reports through App Store Connect.

Contacting support

If you write to our support address we process your details — sender address, subject, message text and any attachments — solely to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in answering you. Where the enquiry concerns a purchase or its initiation, Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR applies in addition.

We do not run the support mailbox ourselves: it is hosted by Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Your message sits in our mailbox there and is read and answered by us personally.

No AI service is involved. The contents of your message are neither evaluated automatically nor used to train AI models; there is no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

Google acts as our processor under Art. 28 GDPR; a data processing agreement is in place.

What you write to us is up to you. A support enquiry about a puzzle game needs neither your real name nor any personal details; you are welcome to write from a neutral address.

Messages are deleted as soon as they are no longer needed, at the latest once statutory retention periods have expired.

Recipients and third countries

We do not pass on the data created in the game — we have no access to it. Personal data reaches recipients only in the cases described above:

With both, processing may also take place in the USA. Apple and Google are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the European Commission's standard contractual clauses apply in addition.

Retention and deletion

Your game data remains stored until you delete it. It is removed completely when you delete the app from your device. Note that this also removes your progress and any purchased hints you have not used yet. The full version, by contrast, can always be brought back with "Restore purchases".

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). We hold no data about you from the app itself; any access request can therefore only be answered in the negative. If you have written to us, these rights concern that correspondence in the support mailbox.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular the authority of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.

Changes

We adapt this policy when changes to the app make that necessary. The current version is available in the app under "More", "Privacy policy", and at https://your-app-world.de/anomaly/en/privacy.html

This is a translation for convenience. The German version is the legally binding one.

Hosting of this page

This text is also served as a web page through GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). GitHub processes technically necessary connection data such as the IP address; we do not receive server logs ourselves. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Details are set out in the privacy policy of the website: your-app-world.de
