Something aboard is off.
Anomaly is a deduction puzzle in the tradition of Einstein's riddle, dressed as a mystery on a research station in orbit. A log full of gaps, one grid, exactly one solution — and no luck involved.
How a log entry reads
Log order: lab → handheld scanner
Adjacent windows: Sørn ↔ inventory
The first sign says the direction is part of the statement: the lab comes before the handheld scanner. The second says the opposite — side by side, in either order. Telling those apart gets you half the station.
What the game is
Never a guess
Every case is built so that each step can be forced. There is exactly one solution, and a path to it that needs no trial and error.
Six difficulties
From introductory to extreme. The next one opens once you have solved three cases of the current level — at least one of them without a hint. In free play, "Hard", "Very hard" and "Extreme" belong to the full version.
Daily puzzle
One case a day for everyone, with its own streak. The week is a ramp: easy on Monday, extreme on Sunday — and never locked, full version or not.
Days you missed can be caught up on from the archive — the same puzzle everyone had on that day. It is part of the full version; the streak does not count caught-up days.
Hints that explain
Three stages: which log entry carries now, which cell follows from it, and finally filling it in. You pay for the look, not for the depth.
Consistency check
Is there a contradiction anywhere? The answer is exact — and limited for exactly that reason, with a cooldown instead of endless asking.
Bilingual and accessible
German and English, Dynamic Type up to the accessibility sizes, VoiceOver with spoken forms of every condensed value.
What the game is not
- No advertising, no tracking, no analytics, no advertising identifier.
- No accounts, no registration, no server — the game runs entirely offline.
- No subscription. There is a one-time purchase and there are consumables, nothing else.
- No energy meter that refills, and no waiting time you can buy away.
Hints and purchases
Hints come from three pools: a daily allowance, the credit that solved cases earn, and — if you like — purchased packs. They are spent top down: first what expires anyway, last what cost money.
Availability
Anomaly is available on the App Store for iPhone, iOS 17 and later. The game itself is free; the full version, the hint packs and Emergency Lighting are one-time in-app purchases.
